Nelson, Calvin “C. C.” Age 89 of Mpls. Passed Feb 13, 2014. Preceded in death by his wife, Virginia. Survived by children, David (Karen), Barb (Kim) DeVere, Patty (Carl) Palmquist, Teri (Ross Ortman) Able, Linda (Mike) Sunderman; grandchildren, Tracie, Scott, Gary, Patrick, Christina, Jilena; 7 great-grandchildren. Served as a Mpls police officer for 36 years, was a Naval bombardier (WWII). He was a member of the Mpls Police Band for over 50 years, the Zuhrah Shrine Band, as well as many other bands. Also a member of Masonic Lodge 19. Memorial Service Tues., Feb 18, 2014, at Normandale Hylands United Methodist Church, 9920 Normandale Blvd, Bloomington, at 11:00 AM. Visitation 1 hour prior. Reviewal 5:00 – 8:00 PM Mon., Feb. 17, 2014, at Cremation Society of MN, 4343 Nicollet Ave., Mpls. 612-825-2435. Masonic Service at 7:00 PM. Memorials to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
