Godfrey, Gary O. Age 75, of NE Minneapolis, passed peacefully on 2/3/16 after a long battle with cancer. Preceded in death by sister, Mary Grider. Survived by children: Cindy (Bob) Trester, Cheryl (Pat) McCargar & Allen (Christina) Godfrey; grandchildren: Melissa (Chris) LaFayette, Melanie (Brian) Johnson, Marc (Ashley) McCarthy, Grant & Garrett McCargar, Alayna, Corbin & Mallory Godfrey; great-grand-children: Evan, Ethan, Owen & Wyatt; brother-in-law, Charles Grider; niece & nephew, Lynn (Terry) Kraus & Ted Grider; other family & friends. Gary spent over 26 years with the Minneapolis Police Department, served in the Navy and was a longtime member of the NE Lions Club, Eagle’s & Arcana Lodge. Gary’s caring heart led him to a life of service to his community and his family. A Celebration of Gary’s life will be held at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH CHAPEL (1918 University Ave. NE) Saturday at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment Hillside Cemetery.
